Two expected to survive violent wreck in Coral Springs

The driver and passenger an Infiniti sedan that crashed into a tree before dawn in Coral Springs Monday are expected to survive, even though the passenger was pinned in the wreck that had to be cut away from him, police said.

At approximately 1:15 a.m., witnesses told Coral Springs police that the car was traveling south along the 2700 block of North University Drive and began to fishtail on the wet pavement, Sgt. Carla Kmiotek said.

The car struck a road sign and was stopped by a tree in the median, Kmiotek said.
