Two bank robbers sought; one in connection with 6 heists

Tuesday was a busy day for bank robberies in Broward County: One was struck in Pembroke Pines and another was held up in Coral Springs.

The man investigators are seeking in connection with the Coral Springs incident is thought to be responsible for five other holdups, the FBI says. Bank surveillance photos have recorded him wearing gloves and a hooded sweatshirt that is tightly tied around his face, which appears to be covered with fabric.

The string of robberies are: Tuesday at 10 a.m. at a SunTrust Bank, 1890 N. University Drive in Coral Springs; Friday at a Chase branch, 6001 N. University Dr., Tamarac; March 16 at a TD Bank, 7001 W. Commercial Blvd. in Tamarac; Feb. 14 at a TD Bank branch at 1800 N. Pine Island Rd., Plantation, which was also held up on Jan. 7, and on Aug. 11, 2014, a Chase branch at 10195 Cleary Blvd. in Plantation.

Also on Tuesday, a Chase bank at 10175 Pines Blvd. in Pembroke Pines was robbed at 10:49 a.m., the FBI said. Special agents are seeking a man who was not disguised and wore a light blue cap, white polo shirt and tan slacks.

No one was injured in any of the incidents, said the FBI, which would not release the amount of money stolen.

The FBI asks anyone with information about these suspects to call 754-703-2000 or leave an anonymous tip with Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
