The city of Coral Springs is currently accepting registration for its summer tennis programs, which include group junior and adult tennis classes for all ages. The programs run from July 13 through Aug. 8.
There will be USPTA Little Tennis classes for boys and girls ages 4 through 6, which includes shorter rackets and softer tennis balls. Beginner classes have two age groups: 7 to 10 year olds and 11 to 14 year olds. After that, the groups are divided by ability levels.
Adult group classes are held mostly in the evenings; some morning classes are available. Each group class is one hour per week for four weeks. The junior classes cost $48 per session, and the adult fee is $56. For specific days and times, call the tennis center at 954-344-1840.
The center also offers tennis camps for boys and girls ages 6 to 16. The camp runs weekly from July 13 through Aug. 8, either half day (9 a.m. to noon) or full day (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.). The full-day students have the option of swimming at the Aquatics Complex during lunch hour. Activities include instruction from USPTA-certified tennis professionals, drills, games and match play.
The cost for the full-day program is $230 for the first week, $215 for each additional week, and $50 per day. The half-day program fees are $140, $130 and $30, respectively.
