Registration for Parkland Kids Camp, a summer recreation program for children ages 5 to 11, will commence March 5. Registration for the summer teen camp program will also begin on the same day.
Children must be five years of age by June 18, 2012, to enroll in the kids’ camp. The program will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:p.m. at Park Trails Elementary School. Extended hours are available.
The program consists of sports, arts and crafts, games, special on-site activities, and field trips. Field trips will be undertaken two to three days per week to facilities located in the tri county area such as movies, bowling, water parks, arcades, skating and museums.
The teen camp is for children ages 12 to 14 (grades 7-9). Children must have completed the sixth grade to be eligible for the program. The program is located at Westglades Middle School for all sessions, and the hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be field trips five days per week to facilities located in the tri-county area.
