It would have been the first private home shooting gallery in Parkland — but city officials shot it down.
John Spadavecchia, 73, of Lighthouse Point, plans to build a 6,775-square-foot home in the PineTree development. He wanted a permit for a 22-by-70-foot recreational shooting gallery.
But the city said that would be incompatible with residences, even in an area zoned for agriculture.
Spadavecchia is deciding if he’ll appeal to the City Commission.
The gallery would have concrete walls and sound- and bullet-proofing. “It’s a bunker,” he said. “Nobody will even know I’m shooting.”
